Grey cast iron pipe is brittle and susceptible to pressure surges, water hammer, and dynamic flushing loads. It is not rated for pressurized flush service by ASME B31.3 standards.
Pressure ratings shown are static maximum estimates only. Dynamic flushing can produce instantaneous pressures 2–4× the steady-state value. Pipe failure, joint separation, or brittle fracture are credible risks.
Consult a licensed piping engineer before performing flush operations on grey cast iron systems.

Oil flush Reynolds number calculator
Multi-run flush circuit analysis. Computes the per-run Reynolds number, compares it to the turbulent-flush target for the fluid's ISO VG class, checks pipe/hose pressure limits and flash point, and back-solves the temperature needed to reach the flush target.
Flash point 422°F — does not reduce oil safety margin ·
Compatible API Group I–IV ·
No system shutdown required for minor deposits ·
No flush after treatment · Protection up to 1 year ·
Change filters before treatment; monitor as deposits mobilize
