Bearing & housing lookup by number or size

Search 87,000+ designations — multi-brand catalog (Lily, Torrington, Fafnir, SKF, Cooper, and more), ABMA/ISO envelopes, and mill aliases (2RS/ZZ, NU/NJ, 68/69, UCP inserts).

How this calculator works

Bearing # searches the bearing catalog, a standard ABMA/ISO dimension layer and mill inventory aliases. Before matching, it strips common brand prefixes (such as SKF or NSK) and trailing seal, shield, clearance and precision marks (such as 2RS, ZZ, Z, RS, C3, C4 and P6). That way 6205-2RS, SKF 6205 C3 and 6205ZZ all find the 6205 base number. Exact matches rank first, and up to 50 results are listed. The optional Brand filter limits results to one maker's parts.

Housing finds housing designations and lists the bearings that fit them. Dimensions converts millimetres to inches and lists bearings whose bore, OD and (optional) width are each within ±3% of your entries. Up to 40 results are shown, best match first, and you can filter by bearing type.

Selecting a bearing locks it into your calculation string. That saves its bore, OD and width (inches), its design group (Ball, Cylindrical/Needle or Tapered/Spherical), any load ratings and speeds the catalog has, and the matching housings. The speed and temperature you enter here carry into the downstream calculators.

Inputs explained

  • Bearing number: type at least 2 characters. Suffixes and brand prefixes are handled for you.
  • Brand (if known): the same designation can belong to different parts from different makers. Leave it on Any if you only have the number.
  • Bore, outer diameter and width (Dimensions): in inches or mm. You need at least the bore or the OD.
  • Type filter: deep groove, angular contact, self-aligning, cylindrical, tapered, spherical, needle, thrust, CARB/toroidal or four-point contact.
  • Operating speed and temperature: entered once after you select a bearing, then carried into the other calculators.

Worked example

By number: typing 6205-2RS lists “6205-2RS Deep Groove Ball Bearing (seal/clearance variant)” first, followed by 6205 catalog variants. Selecting it shows Bore 0.9843", OD 2.0472", Width 0.5906" and Design: Ball.

By dimensions: 25 mm bore × 52 mm OD × 15 mm width with type Deep Groove Ball returns 6205 (0.9843 × 2.0472 × 0.5906") as the best match.

Frequently asked questions

How do I find a bearing by its dimensions?

Switch to Dimensions and enter the bore and OD, plus the width if you have it, in inches or millimetres. You can also pick a bearing type. The calculator lists bearings whose dimensions are each within ±3% of your entries, best match first. For example, 25 × 52 × 15 mm returns the 6205 (0.9843 × 2.0472 × 0.5906 in).

Why does a bearing number with a suffix still match?

Common brand prefixes and seal, shield, clearance and precision suffixes such as 2RS, ZZ, C3 and P6 are stripped before matching. So 6205-2RS or SKF 6205 C3 also finds the 6205 base number.

What happens after I select a bearing?

Its bore, OD, width and design group are saved to your calculation string, along with the speed and temperature you enter. They pre-fill the regreasing interval, minimum required viscosity, fault frequency, lubricant recommendation and other bearing calculators.
